ZPMC partners with Haifeng Power to deliver modular, high-performance generator systems tailored for integration with complex port equipment.
ZPMC (Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.) is a global leader in port machinery manufacturing, renowned for its Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes and Quay Cranes (QCs) deployed in major ports across Dubai, Marseille, Rotterdam, Singapore, Los Angeles, and more.
In many non-electrified container yards, RTG cranes cannot rely on shore power due to infrastructure limitations. To ensure uninterrupted operation, ZPMC integrates custom diesel generator power packs onto the RTG structure. These units provide continuous and reliable power to the crane’s hoisting system, control electronics, lighting, and communication modules—supporting the crane’s full range of mobile operations.
Limited Installation Space & Weight Constraints
RTG cranes have highly limited mounting areas and must maintain structural balance and hoisting safety. Generator weight and volume must be tightly controlled.
High-Load, Long-Hour Duty Cycles
RTGs operate 10–16 hours per day under high load with frequent starts and stop cycles, requiring exceptional system durability, heat dissipation, and fatigue resistance.
Extreme Environmental Variations
ZPMC cranes operate across climates—from Middle Eastern heat and African dust to Southeast Asian humidity and coastal salt air—demanding a globally adaptive generator system.
Complex Integration & Commissioning Coordination
As a subsystem of a highly sophisticated machine, the generator must interface seamlessly with ZPMC’s control system and pass factory pre-commissioning tests before delivery.
Developed compact, low-center-of-gravity modules tailored for RTG rooftop or side platform installation.
Weight distribution engineered to maintain structural balance and lifting stability.
Available in front-access or dual-side maintenance layouts to enhance serviceability.
Equipped with high-efficiency cooling systems to operate in ambient temperatures exceeding 50°C.
Anti-corrosion treatment applied to generator housings and frames, combined with IP54-rated control cabinets.
Marine-grade cables and salt-resistant components enhance durability in coastal environments.
Engine Options: Volvo, Cummins, Weichai Baudouin, compliant with Tier 2 / Tier 3 non-road emission standards.
Alternators: Stamford, H-class insulation, IP23 protection.
Controllers: DSE7320 / DSE8610 / ComAp, with CAN protocol compatibility for integration with ZPMC master controls.
Early-stage interface design with ZPMC technical teams.
End-to-end support for production, factory testing, and documentation.
Joint pre-delivery commissioning conducted at ZPMC headquarters.
"Our partnership with Haifeng Power has been critical in modernizing our terminal operations. The integrated diesel power solution installed on our RTG cranes delivers strong, steady output even under heavy lifting cycles. We particularly value the compact design and remote monitoring functions, which make daily operations smoother and maintenance planning much easier. This solution has directly improved our port efficiency and reduced downtime significantly."

"The ZPMC RTG diesel generator power pack has exceeded our expectations in reliability and performance. Operating in one of the hottest and dustiest port environments in the Gulf, the units start instantly, provide stable power to our RTG cranes, and require minimal maintenance. The custom anti-corrosion coating and optimized cooling system have made a real difference, allowing us to keep our container yard running around the clock without interruption."
